"One of the hardest things about being a new mom is figuring out who you are post-baby - wife, mother, friend, stylist, business owner, worker, lover. I made the decision to stay home with Luca and I felt like people were always asking me when - not if - I was going back to work, as if somehow being a mom wasn’t enough. I’m exploring side projects and figuring out what I’ll do when he is ready to go to school, but for right now I’m taking a friend’s advice to embrace my femininity and softness, do what feels right and not force things. When they’re meant to happen, they’ll happen and there’s no reason to stress yourself out because it feels like you have to be doing 20 million things on top of taking care of your child. Right now staying home with Luca is right for us and we’re happy."

"What helped me most as a new mom is having an incredibly supportive and engaged husband, as well as a having lots of mom friends who I can turn to. It’s important to me to have a partner and someone to “tag team” with. He works all day but when he’s home, my husband makes sure I get a break and he is involved 100% in parenting and kid-duties. He understands that even though I stay home, it’s not all fun and games and that I’m working as well. I also couldn’t do it all without my mom friends. Some of them I’ve known for years, others I made after Luca was born, and they’re some of the most amazing women I know. From answering all my questions, to being there for playdates, vent sessions, and a much-needed glass (or bottle) of wine - I’m so lucky to be surrounded by such remarkable moms."

"I want Luca to grow up in a safe, nurturing, and kind world. I want him to be able to travel and explore, and do anything and everything his heart desires. The world is such a scary place right now. I’m so involved in and affected by what’s going on because I always think of Luca and how things will affect him and his future."

"My husband and I are both creative and passionate about design, so we try to make sure all the kiddie things coming into our house are well-made and thoughtfully designed. Ruggish playmats look like the real thing from afar, and you can only tell they’re rubber when you get close. Xavier Deneaux’s books are incredibly unique and address learning with a smart graphic twist - we’re collecting them and we love to give them as gifts. Petit Collage is a local company that makes beautiful, sustainable and whimsical toys, their wooden animal blocks are the cutest."
